I'm not a great artist (yet ) I'm probably much worse at writing tutorials anyway. To be honest I don't feel like I'm ready to do it, but a request is a request. I said it can be anything, and, as a MAN OF HONOR, I shall fulfill it.
In this part of my tutorial, I won't show you my techniques of 'drawing awesome ponies', but instead, I'd like to share some thoughts on how to improve your art in general.
How can you draw something, if you don't know what it looks like? Whether it's other art or real life, looking, and seeing things can help greatly. The more you see, the more you know, and the easier making your art becomes. Watch other people do art - this helps you discover and understand new techniques. Use as much reference as you can, make your own, experiment. Troubles drawing a certain pose? Make it yourself and make a photo of it.
